Reserve ‘Kurze Grzędy’
Reserves ‘Kurze Grzędy’ and ‘Staniszewskie Błoto’ (107,70 and 130,41 ha) were created as early as in 1916 in order to protect tooting-grounds of the Europe’s largest ground-feeding bird – capercaillie. Unfortunately, on Pomerania this species became extinct during the 20th century. Nowadays, in both reserves are undertaken attempts to restore original and adequate irrigation of habitats. Moreover, the objective is to restore open bogs, which at present are overgrown by birch and swamp forest. A black hiking trail leads to both reserves and Staniszewskie Błoto can be admired from the Mirachowo - Miechucino road.
