Reserve ‘Zamkowa Góra’

  • ul. Zamkowa, Kartuzy

Reserve ‘Zamkowa Góra’ - it is a forest reserve covering the area of 8.88 ha which was created in 1954. The reserve includes a moraine hill overgrown with old beech forest, rising up to 30 m above the surroundings and 225 m above sea level. The protection covers a well-preserved section of low-beech beech forest - fertile and sour (poor) with a substantial number of large trees aged about 250 years. On the top of the hill in the western part is probably the trace of a medieval settlement. At the foot of the hill is a section of the nature-didactic path, marked nearby the shore of Ciche Lake and connected to the nature reserve. The reserve itself is made available by a path leading along the ridge of the hill along the central part of the protected area and its borders.
