Refektarz, Gallery of Contemporary Art in Kartuzy

Built at the end of the 14^th century, it is located next to the Collegiate Church. It is a part of the Post-monastery complex in Kartuzy. Visitor’s attention is drawn to the beautiful Gothic vaults. Formerly, it used to be a dining room of monks, in which meals were eaten only on special occasions. Currently, it houses the Gallery of Contemporary Art which has presented works of art of numerous outstanding artists. The gallery was founded in 1995 and since that time has established a reputation and brand among artists and the public. Every year, the season begins with the exhibition of graduates of the Gdańsk Academy of Fine Arts, entitled ‘Spring of Youth’ and finishes with a jazz concert "Zaduszki Jazzowe”.
