Characteristics of the trail

The trail runs through the most picturesque and rarely visited areas of the Kartuzy Commune from Kartuzy to Sianowo. The trail is highly picturesque - it runs mainly through forests and fields and that is why is a perfect suggestion for a day trip for the whole family to commune with nature and local culture. It passes several large lakes along the way (Rekowo, Łapalickie, Białe and Sianowskie) and 50% runs in the forest area.

General course of the trail (distance in km increasing from the starting point)

Kartuzy – Łapalice (6,5 km) - Pomieczyńska Huta (17 km) – Kolonia (22,5 km) – Sianowo (25,7 km).

The trail forms a section, the beginning is in Kartuzy near the Collegiate Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the end in Sianowo at the Sanctuary of Our Lady Queen of Kashubia. The trail belongs to medium-length (length 25.7 km) and medium difficulty level trails. There are no major or particularly troublesome uphill sections. It runs along roads of various surfaces, all of them, however, are in good technical condition – its major part runs along dirt roads; part leads through asphalt roads with low traffic and asphalt bicycle paths - the structure of the trail surface is as follows (in% of length):

  • dirt roads – 70%,
  • asphalt roads – 20%,
  • cycling paths – 10%.

The trail is entirely marked. It is highly interesting from the touristic point of view and has a typically recreational character. The trail is fully passable for a bicycle with panniers / bicycle trailer and recommended for families with children – however, attention should be paid to safety while driving on asphalt roads.
