The northern trail of the Kartuzy Commune
Characteristics of the trail
The trail is an extension of the Kartuski Nature Cycle Trail. It leads through the most picturesque and rarely visited areas of the Kartuzy Commune that is from Kartuzy through the north - western part of the commune to Łapalice. The trail is highly picturesque - it runs mainly through forests and fields and that is why is a perfect suggestion for a day trip for the whole family to commune with nature and local culture. It passes several large lakes along the way (Rekowo, Łapalickie, Białe and Sianowskie) and about 50% runs in the forest area.
General course of the trail (distance in km from the starting point on a cumulative basis)
Kartuzy – Łapalice (6,5 km) - Pomieczyńska Huta (17 km) – Kolonia (22,5 km) – Sianowo (25,7 km) – Garcz (30 km) – Łapalice (32,8 km).
The trail forms a loop, the beginning of which is located in Kartuzy near the Collegiate Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the end in Łapalice near the petrol station. The trail belongs to medium-length (length 32.8 km) and medium difficulty level trails. There are no major or particularly difficult uphill sections. The trail runs along roads of various surfaces, all of them, however, are in satisfactory technical condition - the longest part runs along dirt roads; part of the trail also leads on asphalt roads with low traffic and asphalt bicycle paths - the structure of the trail surface is as follows (in % of length):
- dirt road – 65%,
- asphalt roads – 25%,
- bike paths – 10%.
The trail is partially marked. It is very interesting from the touristic and cultural point of view and typically recreational. The trail is entirely passable for a bicycle with panniers / bicycle trailer, it is recommended for families with children - however, attention should be paid to safety while driving on asphalt roads.
